LIPSTICKS!

Indian/darker Skin Lip Options

Finding the right lipstick colour can be difficult, especially for women with darker skin tones. Darker-skinned women can have cool or warm undertones, which can affect the way the lip shade plays against their colouring.

So here are the lip shades that I like to wear that compliments my skin and looks fab on darker skin colours.

Orange/coral

Shades of orange and coral make great lipstick colours for darker skin. They’re both incredibly popular this spring and summer, popping up in jewellery, clothing, shoes, and all kinds of other make-up. If you want to really highlight your skin tone and make the most of the hottest colour trend, this lipstick is fantastic.

Lipstick I used: Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish 110

Nude
If you’re looking for something subtle, this is a really understated colour that will make your other features pop, warm your skin, and allow you to keep the focus on your eye make-up, for example, a nude, neutral, or natural shade is perfect

Shade I used: Kiko lipliner 704

Pinks
Matte colours in a plum rose shade is the perfect neutral colour for darker skin tones.

Lipstick I Used: Kiko Smart Lipstick 'Rosewood' (913)

Berry

Berry is a versatile colour on darker skin tones, so you can wear it during the day or at night. Look for something like this with red undertones, to really highlight your skin.

Shade I used: Rimmel Moisture Renew 'Sloane's Plum' (330)

Reds

Something a little darker and more dramatic like this shade will complement your skin and, because it’s a bit more subdued, you can easily wear it during the day too.

Shade I used: MAC Viva Glam

These are some seriously beautiful lipsticks for dark skin! Whatever you might need, whatever your outfit or the occasion, you can easily find the right shade. Don't be afraid to be daring, either. Even if it's for a night-time look, go outside your comfort zone!

What's your favourite lip colour for darker skin?

Moving To University

This time of year always comes around too quickly. The beginning of school, college or uni.
This will be my 3rd year of uni and every year around this time, when moving back out again, brings a lot of anxiety and emotions.

Over this past week, I've not been feeling too great about leaving home and moving into a new place. Yeah sure I'm moving in with my friends, and I'm sure after I've settled over the next few weeks I’ll be fine, but right now I do not want to leave. I'm going to miss just little things like watching telly with my family, having fun with my sister and getting a teddy bear hug off my dad.

A few days ago I left home to move into my new house at uni. With all the moving and unpacking, I didn't really have time to think about it. Now my parents have gone back and I'm sitting in my room. Thinking.

I get these bursts of emotion, how I don’t want to be here, how I wish I was still back at home even if it was just an extra day.

Once I unpacked all the photo frames, posters and stuck pictures on my wall, it felt more like a home.
If like me, you are worrying about leaving home, all I can say is wait. Wait till you are in your new place, with all your photos, posters, duvet and decorations and you will feel a little better.

I remember my first year of uni 3 years ago when I moved into halls and it was hard seeing my family leave to go home. All I kept thinking as I said goodbye was ‘please take me with you’

I felt totally out of my comfort zone, so I thought I should do things that I would normally do at home, even if it’s just watching your favourite TV show or YouTube videos. At home I would watch YouTube all the time so when I came here, it was comforting to watch them because it was something familiar.

If you are feeling a bit sad, anxious or even lonely, it will get better. Everything will piece itself together, but remember, its also up to YOU to do something about it.

Skincare

When Summer comes around, everything changes. From skincare, make-up and hair-care, to fitness, healthcare and diet. I have changed every single one of these things this summer and it has made a noticeable difference.

My Skin

I am someone who has never really had great skin. I suffer from huge breakouts and scaring, and believe me I have tried nearly every product out there to overcome this.

Over a year ago my skin was at its absolute worst, so I gave Proactiv a try. At first it didn't do too much but then I did notice a difference. the redness had gone, my skin looked a little more smoother and fewer breakouts were appearing. But after a 3 months - still using the products - more breakouts were appearing. I have no idea what happened as I was using the products just as normal. So I had to stop using the product and switch to something else.

I tried out so many different scrubs, cleansers, washes out there and nothing seemed to be working well for me.

Until about 4 months ago when I discovered the Garnier pure active wasabi face scrub. IT CHANGED MY LIFE. It has been my holy grail product this year and my skin has cleared up so much better than any other product I have used.
This summer, I'm still using this product but have started to use Garnier's Cleansing lotion, soothing vitamin-enriched toner and Garnier moisture radiance gel moisturiser.

I start by using the scrub and massage into my face for around 1 minute. i then rinse it off and pat
dry. I then add a little of the cleansing lotion to a cotton pad and apply to the whole face. this just removes any extra residue. To another cotton pad, I add a few drops of the toner and also apply to the whole face. This leaves my skin feeling super clean and soothed. After that has dried, I just massage in the moisturiser.
This process had definitely kept my skin hydrated during summer and kept breakouts at bay!
Also to remove make-up, I have been using the garnier mi-cellar water.

I feel like using products all from one brand makes a difference. For me this has been working quite well and I wont be using anything else for a long while.
